Food Storage Unit

The food pantry is serving more families than ever before, and we are running out of food storage space.

We are in the process of raising funds for the purchase of a 40-foot shipping container that will be converted into a climate-controlled storage building for our pantry needs. We will be installing HVAC and insulating the walls, enabling us to install new chest freezers, refrigerators, and commercial grade shelving to support our increasing weekly needs. Doing this will enable us to expand our pantry hours to serve more people.

Estimated total cost $12,000-$15,000

Ministry Pavilion

Several of our service events are becoming too large to host in our existing indoor space.

We plan to add a large pavilion to our facility to support our expanding food pantry operations and vocational training days. The size will be 20 ft by 30ft.

When our clients come to our food pantry, we provide them with coffee, donuts and pastries. Providing an outdoor socialization space in warmer weather will accommodate more clients. The pavilion will provide a sheltered area to process food deliveries in inclement weather.

Estimated total cost $10,000

Financial Support

Starve Poverty depends on both large and small monetary donations to pay for both specific programs and administrative costs. We can keep our overhead low because of willing volunteers. For example, our facility’s cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and improvements have no labor costs, but the building still needs insurance and an internet connection.

When you donate money for a specific purpose, 91% of that money goes directly for that purpose; 9% is overhead, of which 4.5% is for administration and 4.5% is for fund-raising.
Starve Poverty is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
