Making a Difference in peoples lives

In August, 2022, five counties in eastern Kentucky were hit with massive flooding, due to heavy rains falling on the bare ground of abandoned strip mines. One hundred thirty people died. In less than a week we put together a team of a dozen volunteers to go help. Others stepped up to cover all their expenses. The house we worked on had barely survived three feet of water on the main floor. A team from Samaritan’s Purse had been there ahead of us, ripping out the ruined sheetrock. We rebuilt floors, put up new sheetrock, and did other repairs. Seven months later, during our scheduled work trip, we returned to the damaged house, which had just become habitable the week before. We did finishing touches, such as counter tops, painting, and trim. We stand ready to help again, wherever we can, when the need arises.
